An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Monday, repeating until April 10, 2023
The coronation of King Charles III will be held on May 6th, 2023, making him the 39th monarch to be crowned in Westminster Abbey since 1066. To mark this upcoming historical event, this two-week series will include a detailed background on the history of the Coronation ceremony; a selected summary of past coronations going back to Wiliam the Conqueror; highlights of some of the more unusual events in prior coronations; and, finally, a look at the coronation of Elizabeth II and what we can expect from the coronation of King Charles III. Class is virtual via Zoom.
